I was tagged by @mikachusblog @aurorangen and @moonwoodhollow however I put together a recap earlier this month! Instead I'll pick about ten story moments I enjoyed from this year under the cut as well as a very special screenshot. I did want to make sure I tagged some people as well! :D

1. January 8th: Kai shares a secret

⋆ This was a really fun flashback scene! We got to see Kai, Frances, Dan and Atlas in the earlier years of high school as well as learn that Kai has romantic feelings towards Atlas, who happens to be his first kiss! This is also where his arc officially begins in my mind!

2. March 6th: Taryn's skepticism

⋆ I remember being so proud of this scene because it was one of the first scenes I fully posed the conversation. I really enjoyed of Atlas and Taryn's mannerisms peaked through. I think this conversation while it focuses on a different subject, the nature of it shows their personalities. Taryn struggling with self confidence while Atlas's facade starts to unveil just a bit.

3. March 12th: Frances's solo

⋆ I was really proud of these poses as well as the shots. The shots of Icarus and Frances while romantic do say a lot about how each views each other. Your greatest heartbreak being how Frances feels and the deepest regret being how Icarus feels. For the cello poses, I did reference through watching performances but also real life so it was neat combining the two. I am excited for Frances's future in De Sol Valley especially when new faces are introduced to the cast. It might be similar to Atlas's prologue where Frances is the focus but just in a shorter interval.

4. March 9th: A rose and it's bumblebee

⋆ March was a good month. Maybe not for the characters, but a good month creatively for me ! I'm gonna sound so toxic but I love the tension between these two so much like hold out a bit longer please JUSTKIDDINGPFFTorami? anyways structuring taryn's monologue came out of order. the frames where she says "A stubbed toe. A scraped knee. A fall." came first. Everything else was built around those three sentences. The scene following that was fun to put together because Atlas really does struggle to apologize and take ownership over his fuck up that he tries to smooth things over by being charming but Taryn, getting more comfortable, shows her newfound skill of setting boundaries (courtesy of Atlas LMAO) and calls him out on the bullshit.

5. August 9th: Theo's official introduction

⋆ Much of Theo's life is hush hush as following after the WR arc we dive more into their lives but I do want to talk more about them. I liked following their life throughout the day and the general reclusiveness they have in a new city. Their only friend at the time is Gabriel and with no goals of going back to their old life, the only way forward is through. I will say, something about the city has a way of helping people find themselves.

6. August 8th: Of course I had to freaking include this scene

⋆ Gonna be so real right now but I was terrified to post this. Terrified. We see the chaos of Atlas's vices revealing a very important detail, one Rowan reminded us all and that is, Atlas seeks out trouble. The most curious and pressing part is why and how does it end? Any scene with Atlas is scary for me because he leaves a lot of subtle little hints but the extent of his nature is like slowly pulling off a band aid. Are people gonna like what's underneath? I'm never really sure but I do enjoy exploring his character quite a bit.

7. September 3rd: Ojitos lindos

⋆ First, I love Jules. Dude was literally supposed to only be in the one scene and... He wiggled himself into a handful. Second, was very proud of how the dance came out, with Taryn teasing Jules and Jules chasing every second of it until the kiss. OUGH! The little fiend in me blurred out "tu y yo" in the kiss scene to sorta symbolize Taryn beginning to move on from Atlas but as we see later, that was short lived. Taryn's monologue was the easiest to write and it comes from a person struggling with the bitter emotions of heartbreak.

8. October 8th: A formal introduction to Ares's life

⋆ Little lore drop but the Langs have been longtime characters of mine. In fact, longer than everyone else. Chase, Ares's father, was a main character of a youtube series I made long ago over the summers of my school days LMAO! So to revisit and restructure them as has been... WOW ! I wanted everyone to feel like they were a plant on a shelf observing the dynamics of specifically the women in Ares's life as well as the structure of his home. It felt subtle but good :)

9. October 18th: Kai's revelation

⋆ I think I have one more scene left for Kai's arc. I specifically wanted to focus on the concepts of jealousy, cognitive dissonance and religion coupled with Kai being a closeted man. I will say in the beginning, I did struggle to connect with this character. While some elements I can totally relate to, writing about it is different. Envy can be classified as an ugly feeling. It isn't palatable to most and is quickly shood away but because of that, we don't talk about it enough. So I wanted to go into this really humanizing this common emotion but not making it as some caricature of an emotion. I do love Kai's growth, I wanted to make sure he earned it and it sure feels like it.

10. November 23: The freaking arts festival

⋆ There's still like four-ish more posts to go. Those will be a bit less crash-out packed but I think it ends on a high note. There's a lot in these six posts. Some of it slightly nudging certain characters arcs, other parts deepening your knowledge of other oc's. I wanted to start out on the disappointment that Atlas faces seeing that the only person supporting him there is Daniela and how he copes in the only way he knows how. The arts festival is something he helped put together but it seems to be a reoccurring theme that any accomplishment he ever has is always overshadowed. It's always something. Each frame, every detail, to the dialogue in these two posts are intentional. The following scenes after that have some really cool conversations. I think the last post also has some unique dialogue as well but we'll pick back up on January 2nd! :)

Also a bonus! I wanted to show one of these first photos of Tessellate. It's no longer on my blog after the reboot but I wanted to show how much has changed in two years.

Leigh plays Tellius prt 15

It's the final chapter! I had Ike give his speech, because I love it, even if he's clearly uncomfortable giving it. I literally muttered, "you're doing great, sweetie" at this moment.

What a wild time for Ashnard to confess this. I'm surprised Bryce wasn't more upset by this, honestly, considering he was a loyal retainer to the last king for fifteen years. But I suppose it's possible that his loyalty was more for the post, rather than the man himself.

We never do learn much about the previous King of Daein. This amazing post theorizes that Ashnard was perhaps an illegitimate son of the king, which is why he was never mentioned in any talk of succession prior to the "plague" that killed off the rest of the royal family. I really like this theory, because it explains why Ashnard was so obsessed with strength over bloodlines.

I put Soren up against a dragon laguz, and he completely decimated it through a combination of crits and adepts. Then I felt really terrible afterwards, considering that Soren might have indirectly been the cause of him becoming feral, since it's possible that this was one of the dragon laguz that traveled with Rajaion to rescue Almedha and infant Soren.

As expected, Soren capped his magic before even reaching level 20, so I didn't have to use a spirit dust on him. Fantastic job, Soren!

Ilyana reached level 20 not too long afterwards. However, she was unable to cap magic and speed on her own, so I used both a spirit dust and a speedwing for her. Hopefully this makes part 1 of Radiant Dawn just a teensy tiny bit easier.

Unfortunately, Soren and Ilyana were the only two units I was able to get to level 20. I severely overestimated how much exp was available on this map. Even more frustrating, I got Jill all the way to level 19, but then I ran out of enemies to pit her against.

I very nearly got Mist to level 20, too, through using a physics staff to heal Ike. Unfortunately, I forgot to unequip Ike's ragnell and he defeated Ashnard with aether before I could get Mist all the way to level 20.

I unironically love Ashnard's dying words. There's no disappointment, no anger. He's just so happy to meet someone who proves to be a formidable opponent. I suppose he was getting bored. I suppose it makes war less thrilling when you wear invincible armor.

This reveal is sooooooo gooooooooood. I love Ena and Rajaion.

I wish Rajaion had survived. Unfortunately, they didn't make it very clear that he died, so when I first played this game, I thought he had survived until I played the sequel.

Ike and Elincia's friendship is so good, so pure.

A moment of silence for my least used characters. Rhys, Volke, and Brom, you are great characters, but I didn't need you, I'm sorry. Sothe, I will see you in the next game.

And that's it! The end progressed too quickly for me to take too many screenshots, but I did record who my top 5 units were:

Jill came in at 5th. No surprise there. I worked really hard, trying to get her to level 20. It's a shame I never did.

Soren was 4th. I'm a little sad he didn't rank higher, but I suppose it makes sense. Once he classed up into a sage, I mainly used him as a healer, since he was such a higher level than everyone else.

Rolf was 3rd. I'm also sad I didn't get him to level 20. He would have been so buffed with those transfer bonuses. Oh, well.

Ilyana was 2nd. Again unsurprising. She lagged behind for a while, but I managed to get her to level 20 with 4 capped stats, so all the extra effort paid off.

And of course Ike was in 1st place.

And that was Path of Radiance! I'm going to take a break to work on my Big Bang fic, but I am excited to get into Radiant Dawn. I wish I had gotten more characters to level 20. So far, I have Ike, Ilyana, Soren, and Ranulf all at level 20. Ike has capped 5 stats, Ilyana and Soren 4, and Ranulf only the 1. Perhaps I should have played on hard, so there would have been more reinforcements. Additionally, I could have farmed several bosses for extra exp.

Oh, well. Overall, I did manage to achieve all 5 of my goals. No one died, Ike and Soren are at an A rank, Ike and Ranulf at a B rank, Soren and Ilyana capped speed, and Ranulf capped strength.

Next time: we meet the Dawn Brigade!

Blurb idea!!! (Totally ignore if you don't want to do this) So what if y/n does a video where she rates all of the outfits Harry has worn for the 3rd album (like Coachella, interview outfits, any casuals too, etc etc) and maybe she doesn't really like an outfit as much but then H pops his head in and claims that she actually really liked the fabric or smth and wanted to keep it (and he obviously got it for here) but she's like it didn't look as good on you (clearly joking) and he's like you're mean with a pouty face >:( and we see them being really cute on camera (or it could be released as a bts) So yeah! “Hello my lovelies and welcome back for another video of me basically bashing H.”

The camera was set up on your usual tripod, only this time you weren’t in your bedroom but rather the living room. You thought it might be nice to show people a different view; something interesting and new. Also it was a sneaky way of showing people Harry’s living room, which certain furniture would feature on his new album cover.

Harry was sat next to you, because no matter how hard he persuaded you to you were not going to sit on his lap. Everyone knew you were a couple, in fact ‘Glamour’ had labelled you both as the “It” couple of 2022, but you didn’t want to overdo it on the PDA. Plus this was your channel through your own hard work and success, not Harry’s.

“You know someone’s made a complication of all the moments in your videos where you’re mean to me?” Harry said, getting out his phone to pull up the moment he was talking about.

“No way! Really?”

“Yeah, here.” Harry showed you and you made a mental note to add a screenshot of the account when you edited later.

“That makes me look so bad.”

“Good. Y’so mean to me. I’m glad it’s picked up on.”

“You’re just mean to me off camera though, that’s why there’s no video compilation of you being mean to me.”

Harry just evilly smirked and you knew in your head that would be a good place to cut and roll your channels titles. The jingle for your channel was courtesy of Harry playing the piano, which he did without hesitation when you had asked him years ago.

“So, today we will be rating Harry’s outfits from the HS3 era so far. I thought it would be a fun idea, considering I am uploading this on the albums release day.”

“Oh, and we should probably mention that pictures that we’re looking through are coming from costume fittings.”

“So I’m very deeply sorry if you end up seeing H’s bare chest.”

Harry laughed, pretending to lift the bottom of his jumper up and reveal his chest. You got too jealous of your audience seeing his chest though, so you slapped his hands down and told him to behave himself.

You knew it was all banter and Harry’s relationship with his fans was very close and intimate, but sometimes you liked keeping little moments of him to yourself. You were a huge fan of him before this relationship so you totally understood what it was like to be a fan like that, but now you’ve learnt how to respect him and in turn respect yourself.

Harry knew that you got jealous, so tried as much as possible to keep himself and his body reversed just for you. Sometimes though, when you’re pissing him off he will go shirtless just because he knows it will rile you up.

“I’m actually excited for this, y’know?” Harry said, sitting closer to you. You shifted the camera so there would be a space to the left side of the screen for you to edit in a picture of the outfit you were talking about.

“What and you weren’t excited when we filmed all our other videos?”

“I liked the one we did when we did the fake Wired Autocomplete interview.”

“That was funny. I also liked the one where we were handcuffed to each other for 24 hours.”

“I got so mad at you and I really did not like it one bit. You were so upset. Plus I hurt your wrists that day.”

He pouted and you allowed him to swallow you in a huge bear hug. He always felt the need to apologise for those 24 hours, because of his tense it got. You constantly reminded him you still loved him and you were okay now. He would take any opportunity to hug you though for it.

“I’m okay.”

“I know.”

“Y’want to hold me for the rest of this video?” You asked, knowing he wouldn’t really want to let you go now his mind was whirring with bad thoughts over that video.

Harry moved behind you and allowed his legs to spread so you could slide and sit in between them. His arms caged around your waist and squeezed gently, turning you into his person human-sized teddy bear. You let him nuzzle his face into your neck briefly, knowing your scent calmed him down. Once you were comfortable and Harry could nicely peer over your shoulder at your phone, you began.

“Okay. First of all is your ‘As It Was’ red jumpsuit.”

“It was so comfortable, that.” Harry added.

“I really liked it. I thought it was a perfect outfit to celebrate a new single.”

“You’re just being biased.” He teased, pinching your side in a way that tickled.

“Why? Because m’mum made it for you?” You asked and he nodded.

Your mum was always looking for an in to assist Harry’s life in some way. She loved being creative and was a brilliant seamstress, after owning her own dress repair shop for years. You remember her bursting into tears when you and Harry face-timed her to ask her to make the ‘As It Was’ music video outfits. She was told they had to be red and blue, but other than that she had a free hand.

Harry had told her that they were the best costumes that he’d ever worn for a video. You still don’t know whether he was just being polite or actually meant it, but either way it made your mum infinitely smile.

“Honestly, y’mums a bloody legend.” He added, making you blush. You loved how much he loved your mum and family.

“So the outfit out of 10?”

“10.” He spoke very quickly.

“I’ll give you a 10 also mum. Y’d did such a good job.” You looked to the camera when you said that, holding up your hands to create a little heart with them.

Out of all the outfits you’d be showing today the ‘As It Was’ was definitely not your favourite, but it was still worth the 10 points. Your mum was a great seamstress, but you just liked the colours of some other outfits on him better than the red - which was out of your mums control.

“Off to a good start then.” He shuffled a bit to sit up right on the sofa after slouching down.

“Y’okay? Sorry if I’m making you uncomfortable.” You turned your head to see whether there were any signs of discomfort on his face.

“Y’not, shut up you.” He leant in to kiss your lips. He tasted so good and he felt even better.

Unfortunately for the fans you’d have to cut that out because it wasn’t very censored. Harry can get carried away a lot of the time because of how much he likes kissing you and so a sweet kiss can turn into a groping make out session. Like now. You had to pull away as he started kissing down your neck and dangerously close to the place he loved giving you hickeys.

“Oi. Stop it.”

“Y/N!” He whined like a baby, but you weren’t arguing.

“H I can’t be battered and bruised when we’re filming, y’know this.”

“Can’t help myself. You’re too pretty.” You leant in to give him another kiss for his kind compliment and then turned your face around to lessen temptation.

“Okay outfit two. Coachella night one.” You giggled excitedly, because the Coachella outfits were your ultimate favourites.

“I loved how they designed it based off y’mum’s design.” Harry started and it made your heart swoon that he was still finding ways to compliment your mum.

“You looked like a rockstar rainbow dream.”

“I felt like a rockstar actually. I can’t get over that crowd.” He blew out a breathe of air.

“What was it like?” You asked, already knowing the answer but wanting to give your viewers a chance to know too.

“Electrifying. Huge. Exhilarating. I never thought I’d ever be able to achieve something like that. Ever. So to actually to sit here and say that I have done it feels like a dream.”

You smiled at him and leaned in to give him a kiss on his cheek. He deserved so much more, but you were filming right now and you’d give him all the love after.

“So what would you rate your night one outfit?”

“Wait, lets talk about night twos outfit and then compare them.”

“So we get to talk about what we think of night twos outfit now?”

“Yes.”

Before Harry had finished the word, you dramatically moaned and loosened your body to slide off Harry and the sofa and onto the floor. Harry caught your armpits before you could fully slide, worried that you’d bash your head on the coffee table or something.

“That’s how I feel about night two.”

“Oh is it now?” Harry asked, but he already knew.

He knew because as soon as he walked off that stage, on night two, you jumped his bones and wouldn’t let him leave the premises before you fucked him in his pink, leather, Cowboy suit. He looked so good to the point where you were wet the entire of the set, since you hadn’t seen the outfit before he went on stage. You two had nearly been the last ones in the park, because once you’d done one thing to Harry he decided to return to the favour. You fucked, you gave each other head and you came so many times that Harry asked to keep the suit so he could relive that night over and over again.

Harry pulled your back up easily to sit back on his lap, twisting you sideways slightly so he could get a better view of you.

“It’s like my favourite thing you’ve ever worn.”

“Wow. Big claim.” Harry whistled.

“Okay maybe my favourite concert outfit you’ve ever worn.” You adjusted your statement.

“So it was better than night one?”

“Yes.” You said a bit too quickly, feeling slightly bad for the designer of night one. “I still adored night one, but there was something about night two that really… gagged me?”

Harry choked on air when you said that and you couldn’t help but laugh. You patted his back as if that was going to do anything, before he settled.

“How about I wear it tonight?” He leant in to whisper in your ear. All you could do was whimper in return and he used the opportunity to kiss your lips. You let him have you for a few minutes, think that at this rate it will look like you’re filming for OnlyFans rathe than YouTube.

“So rating them both out of 10.” You suggested.

“Night one was an 8 for me. Night two was a 10.”

“I’d say night one was also an 8. Night two was a fucking 11 though.” You claimed and Harry just smirked, knowing he was in for a pretty great evening.

Harry cuddled into you, giving you a big squeeze when all he really wanted to do was take you upstairs and love on you all afternoon.

“Ow you just squashed my boob, y’dickhead.” You shouted as Harry’s hand jabbed into your boob as you two were messing around.

“Shit, m’sorry baby. Harry reached for your boob and cupped his hand over it as his fork of apology.

“I’m fine.”

“Promise?” He asked, kissing your cheek.

“Promise.” You nodded, kissing him on his cheek in return. “Next outfit?”

“Go for it.”

He returned you back to your original positions and you took your phone to look at the next outfits.

You had a look at some street style ones and Harry laughed at how crazy some of the paparazzi were. There were some really odd angles and one that was a really unflattering angle of you. You could’ve cried but Harry reminded you of how beautiful he saw you as and that every one else did too. It didn’t matter that you had double chins or an extra chub roll on your stomach, you were absolutely perfect the way you are.

You even added a few outfits where you and Harry bad spent the day together and he had a good outfit. You loved feeding the fans with unreleased content and they loved you for it. You had such a special bond with the fans, something that no other celebrities partner really had. There was one where he was wearing a kitchen apron and a pair of pink boxers, because you two had been baking a cake together, and you both had a good laugh about how bad a photo it was.

“Baby stop!” Harry laughed some more, hand over his stomach because he couldn’t control himself very well.

“Sorry! It’s just you honestly look like you’re a housewife.” You giggled, stroking his cheek with your hand. “My little bitch.”

“Excuse you!” He gasped, using his free hand to slap your arse. The sound made such a loud noise and you gasped with how hard he hit you.

“Ow y’fucking twat!”

“You have such a bad potty mouth, you.”

You weren’t worried about the swearing, because you always put a disclaimer at the start of your videos that there could be strong language so you should watch at your own risk. You weren’t bothered about profiting off your videos either, so you weren’t worried if the swearing caused YouTube to demonetise your content.

“Yeah. I do when you slap me.”

“Don’t call me y’bitch then.” He argued and you rolled your eyes at him. He knew he was your bitch. He was absolutely whipped for you and there was no denying that, even if he tried.

It took you another few moments of banter before you were back on track.

“So let’s do the Today show outfits?” You suggested.

“Yes let’s.”

“I absolutely love the denim on denim.” You started, “But I don’t like the curly twirly baby grow.”

“Honey!” He exclaimed, sitting up right with shock.

“What? We have to be honest.” You explained.

“Not when it offends me. Can’t believe you’d treat me like this.”

“But I love your denim one. Is that not enough?” You pouted, not wanting him to be actually mad with you.

“Fine. But you owe me a fuck tonne of kisses.”

You leant in to kiss him on his lips, clearing any sadness out of his system. You could feel his lips smiling against yours and it made you pull away to see the beautiful sight.

“Done deal.”

“Can we wrap this up so I can kiss y’now?” He tucked his head into your neck so that he could breathe you in.

“‘Course.”

You both finished up the video, using your normal exit as a way to wrap everything up. You fell into Harry, happy knowing that the video was going to be a success because of how in love you both were with each other.

goodbye persona 5 royal. after 121 hours (140 on my switch profile) i got 69% of thieves den achievements, 99% in the compendium, and took 910 switch screenshots (third sem having a recording block really cucked me fr.) I think I did as much as i possibly could. despite my gripes this was my most fulfilling playthrough i've ever done of P5. i have a lot of bad things to say about royal but i really did have so much fun with it. getting excited over the new moves with the grappling hook (guessing where the cutscene would be and having fun being technical with chains de hook), making more strategic personas with fusion alarms, using all that extra time p5r gives as efficiently as possible. I loved maruki's confidant even if it ended in a kind of mediocre palace. he's just a fun guy who's so naturally inserted into the story it feels like he Should've always been there (except for the end). though its a shame because of how his confidant is structured in terms of topics, you cant easily insert it into p5 (its basically just a huge foreshadowing/ general set-up for the themes of 3rd sem). akechi's though... akechi's confidant and the addition of kichioji was WONDERFUL and i'd have killed for it in vanilla. im so glad for it. its such a fun place to explore and i love all the new npcs; penguin sniper was fun to play (though i hate playing with akechi, esp because its useless to) and jazzjin's gameplay elements were REAL FUN TO MAKE BUSTED ASS TEAMMATES WITH. no more what-ifs is also... a good song. i think i might even add it to my personal faves playlist. i'll have to sit down and listen to the ost when i don't have a headache. anyway there's probably a lot more good things i can say, but my head is kind of muddled rn lol. that post-game feeling fr.

ahh, but even when it comes down to the bad, like kasumi-- groaning every time she came on screen was fun in its own way too; whether it was laughing at the hilarity of it or coming to tumblr and grumbling about it with whoever was following along with my posts that day. honestly i just wish they tried a little harder with her and we got to know *sumire* instead of kasumi a little more. reading the interview where the devs admitted to her just being a marketing ploy and how they treated her as such really is crushing. its kind of a reflection of royal as a whole in a way to me. care *was* put in; i can see the heart behind a lot of this, but it's more focused on being flashy and appealing to those who missed the first wave of p5dom; or trying to draw back in those who have already played. which... is the point of a video game definitive edition, but kind of ironic when presented against the morals p5 seems to stand for. (or tries to, anyway. corporate meddling and cultural norms... this is still a video game that needs to sell.) i know i shouldn't treat silly anime game #685 that lets you date a maid-teacher as an 'art form' but i always felt p5 had a pretty solid and profound message. so to see royal trample p5 vanilla and then dance around wearing its skin is... certainly something. i know they're technically the same game, so royal has those messages too, but they get all tied up in the new stuff that royal brings forth (and doesn't deliver on. lmao. lol) on top of the already shaky at times writing p5 came with. i guess what im just trying to say is that royal's content is good... but it's being too much. and that just makes me really, really sad. despite all that, royal still kind of rekindled my love for p5 that was already present. every new playthrough for me lets me look deeper into what i like or neat details i missed; seriously i always find something new when i come back to this game. but this was especially true in royal. i found myself noticing when the tiniest detail was changed and it was always fun to compare them, even if it devolved into a tangent. i really only am disappointed like this just because I love persona 5 as a whole *so much*. its everything to me, so i want it to be the best it can be, yknow? anyway, thanks persona 5 royal. you've been a journey in multiple ways. try as i might, i won't forget you.

Hi hi hello we've been over this already. So i finished s3 finally and i can share my thoughts!

I loved battle of mewni special I was confused as to why sth so finale like is happening at the beginning of the season but despite that i dont mind it being the beginning and not idk end of s2

I also loved all the backstories there and finally meeting eclipsa! I knew about her (obviously the fandom wouldnt shut up about her when s3 came out) but it was so nice to finally see her! And also so happy that they finally came around to explain ms heinouss/meteora cheek thing! Since her first episode i was wondering if they will ever expand on that and they did! So cool!

I loved Stars and Toms relationship! Its so good! I was worried that Star will break up with Tom at some point but she didnt (yet)! So thats awesome

Also the ball episode>>> you dont know how long i waited to see it! I saw all the screenshots when it came out and was so excited to see it myself at some point!and now i did! And im not disappointed!

But i am disappointed in ig svtfoes tendency to make big deal out of nothing. Once again they made it such a big deal of someone losing sth only for them to get it back in unclimactic way (im talking about pony head I WANT SOME DEVELOPMENT FOR PONY HEAD WHY DID SHE LOSE HER HORN IF IT DIDNT EVEN MATTER) also i lowkey think they defeated toffee too easy like i know it was a whole special and a whole thing but once it came down to it, it just seemed way too effortless idk

Also while i do like Starco dont get me wrong am i the only one who thought that Star was completely indifferent about what happened in the photo booth? I mean hell yeah she seemed to get over Marco pretty quickly and Im glad she stayed that way and didnt just fall for him again after he kissed her but still, if next season theyre gonna pull some shit like "oh no he kissed me i think i fell for him again" im gonna be mad. Anyway

Despite few episodes being huge red flags for me as in "oh no this is were the shit goes down and everything is bad" i enjoyed 3rd season thoroughly and cant wait to start watching s4! Even tho my friend told me thats when shit goes down fr but u know im still hoping for the best!

2021 in books

i've read 29 books (12 on russian and 17 in english) in 2021 and spent 135 hours reading.

i use readmore app for tracking my reading and you can see screenshots from it above. i had a resolution of reading 50 books and during summer i was going through my 'read later' lists of fanfiction so i tracked them in the app as well that's why it says i've read 42 books not 29. but i separate books and fanfiction (135 hours opposed to 223+ hours spent on reading).

below i'm gonna list all the books and one line for each with my thoughts on it or some funny fact, hope it's enjoyable!

Мифы о хорошей девочке. Махо Молфино - отличный выбор если вы как и я только вникаете в тему феминизма, автор дизайнер и её манера изложения и структура книги меня покорили, тк всё разложено по полочкам и доступно.

Демиан. Герман Гессе - первая и последняя книга моей провалившейся попытки создать книжный клуб, прочла за вечер и чуток разочаровалась, вайбы дарк академии и мистицизма, но развязка антиклиматичная на мой взгляд.

Heartstopper vol.4 . Alice Oseman - my beloved graphic novel, the netflix adaptation is out on april 22! i love oseman's style and recommend her writing to everyone, go read it folks!

You will get through this night. Daniel Howell - dan did not disappoint with his book indeed, it's nicely structured, has helpful advice and dan's writing keeps you entertained and invested and is encouraging, i'd love to have a physical copy to keep around and have a look whenever needed as that's what this book is for.

The one . John Marrs - my friends were talking about it but then i ended up the only one who read it after all, it was an interesting read with twists and turns.

Introducing Feminism. Cathia Jenainati, Judy Groves - another try to understand feminism more and learn its history, i don't remember much from it anymore but it was educational i'd say.

Spring awakening. Steven Sater, Duncan Sheik - it's a musical script/libretto, and what can i say, i love this one, may 3rd on hbo premieres a documentary about 15 years anniversary of it and i'm excited to watch it wahoo.

The true lives of my chemical romance. Tom Bryant - reading this book felt like falling down the pensive and going through it all with the band, i learned a lot of new things from it and enjoyed reading a lot.

Spring awakening. Frank Wedekind - now this is the original play/story (i don't really remember) that the musical is based on and i was surprised a little bit when i learned when it was written, pretty progressive for that time imho.

Suicide notes. Michael Thomas Ford - i saw the title and decided to read it and was surprised to learn while reading that it's queer, i loved the book and i remember getting emotional when i finished it.

Blue is the warmest colour. Julia Maroh - the iconic graphic novel, i loved it and was upset when reading the finale, as a whole i loved it as it evokes emotions in a reader and the graphics are stunning, i saved quite a few as references and it increased my dream of making a comic book.

The highly sensitive person's survival guide. Ted Zeff - a very practical book, i'd recommend reading the og hsp book first i started it after this one and am still reading it eh it's elaine aron's book i made a lot of notes while reading and started using and am still using a lot of tips from it so it's helpful!!

We were liars. E. Lockhart - i devoured this book in one evening as it's written in a way to keep you reading and learning more about characters and the mystery gradually was lovely, i liked the pace and the ending was satisfying as well, it was a little bit heavier then i expected though.

Fifty shades of earl gray.Fanny Merkin, Andrew Shaffer - i found this on the internet in the middle of the night and read it, at night it seemed pretty hilarious.

Almost adulting. Arden Rose - one of the youtubers' books that's actually good, it was a delight to read and very relatable, recommend it for young adults.

Артур Хейли - эту книгу мне давала прочесть подруга и с тех пор мы не ездим на лифтах с трещинами на полу)) отличный выбор куда сбежать из реальности тк книга погружает читателя в отель и жизнь его постояльцев и сотрудников, ты вместе с персонажами переживаешь за судьбу отеля и при этом линии повествования переплетаются и идут размеренно через всю книгу и одну неделю в рамках которой происходят все события.

Meera Shah - another book that was recommended on ig i think, very insightful and educational, especially for me as a future doctor, as it depicts patients' side of stories, but the paragraph that sticked to me was about the doctor who stayed "As a gay, brown-skinned immigrant, I know what it is like to live in this country as a second-class citizen. Now, I feel a responsibility to use my privilege as a man and as a physician, to help others and speak up when I see injustice. This is what keeps me going and continuing to provide abortion care in Texas where I grew up. I know the people here. I know the highways and the towns, the history, and the Texas pride. Folks who cannot be pregnant deserve empathy, access to quality abortion care, and dignity. Doing what I can to make sure people have all of this is my life’s purpose,” he explained."

The help. Kathryn Stockett - i loved the book while reading it, but when i learned that it's written by a white woman hmmm, and then i read feedback on the movie which i haven't watched myself and i ended up confused, do i like it? idk

Sadie. Courtney Summers - well this one, i started it expecting a quick read, just a detective, but little did i know how depressing it was, pretty dark and heavy, i'd recommend looking up tws before deciding whether to read it or not, it left me in a weird state , especially the ending.

CLEANING AFTER TAIKO CHALLENGE...

Konno: Our best memory, let's say our answers after the go signal! "Fireworks in Odaiba."

Sasaki: "Amusement park!" Ah~that one~ (LOL). The one where we watched fireworks!!

Konno: That was around 4-5 years ago already, right?

Sasaki: That was close to the end of summer.

Konno: Yabana, me, Sakuchan (Sakuma Ryuto) and you (Taiko) were there.

Sasaki: The fireworks were really beautiful. We could see it from the restaurant. Although it is a beautiful memory, it didn't come to my mind~!

Konno: Well, the amusement park is also a good memory. (Takahashi) Yuto and (Iwasaki) Taisho were there too. Everyone went to places like haunted house, it was really fun~(LOL).

Sasaki: There was a collaboration with 「Kurosaki-kun no Iinari ni Nante Naranai」right at that time. I wanted to ride Kurosaki-kun's gondola no matter what so I rode the ferris wheel around 3 times. That was fun~.

When he consults to me saying, "I want to try this but...," I reply, "I think that's great." I think that we won't know the result until we try it so it is better to freely do it.

Konno: That is a masterpiece.

Sasaki: The content with cola became known but even I myself think that the content with shampoo is a masterpeiece. I planned that 2 weeks before the filming. I thought that I'll do that on my birthday. And then, Akarui Tonikaku-san did that in the variety show.

Sasaki: I was troubled, "Uwa, seriously! It overlaps with my plan!", but since I wanted to do it so I took the risk and did it.

Konno: Well, that is the best. I like the part where you poured the water to yourself, but what happened to your room?

Sasaki: It got wet. In Johnny's stages, when we use water, the water flows into the orchestra pit (a space that is lower than the main stage), but in my house there's no such system like that!

Konno: AHAHAHA!

Sasaki: That's why with a drainer similar to the one used in cleaning the windows, I cleaned the room by making the water flow into the veranda. Cleaning the mess afterwards was miserable (LOL).

RECENT HAPPENINGS

Sugeta Rinne: I can now do 70kg of bench press! I thought of doing a bench press that is about my weight, but I am happy that I was able to do 10 more kilos from my weight. Since I still do 3 reps x 3 sets, so I want to increase the number.

Motodaka Katsuki: There are also 4th year undergraduates in the graduate school seminar. It was my first time meeting them recently, and I feel excited that they're my juniors. Until now, there are seniors that I am close with, but I don't have a junior who is close with me. I wonder if they'll be close with me!?

Nakamura Reia: My dad gave me the latest game console for my birthday. The controller is amazing that the vibration changes when the character is walking in grassy place and when the character is walking in soil. I don't have that much games for it yet but I want to play with it a lot.

Yabana Rei: A little while ago, I went to watch Rinne's 「Hidamari no Ki」(the show ended) in Osaka. I wasn't able to go in Tokyo shows but it was really popular so I really had to see it. I also watched Sexy Zone's concert the next day, it was a fulfilling trip.

Konno Taiki: When I'm at home or when I'm on the move, I only listen to western music. In someway or another, it looks like I have a phase for Japanese music and western music, and now I am into western music. I keep repeating the songs that I like more than broadening the songs that I know. There are a lot of songs by male artists [that I listen to].

Sasaki Taiko: I have fully mastered the stores in the suburbs of Tokyo that sell in large quantities!  Depending on the store, the proportion varies and that excites me~. For example, 800 yen for 24 bottles 500 mL of water, there are great deals and it is super fun. I also bought toilet paper that I split with my friend.

BNHA Chapter 257: Make It Your Own (Pt.1)

Y’all this chapter was SO good,,, it was also v long and jam packed with lots of stuff, which I always love when it happens, so uh I’m just gonna word vomit here lmao

All Might’s Quirk analysis book!!!! I personally was really excited for this because I was hoping it would reveal a heck ton of info abt the past users, and I guess it kinda has!! But also, think about how much work AM must have put in to make this for Mido. Like, research as deep as that on people who existed a long time ago is not easy, but he still did it!! #DadMight lmao. But also, what AM said about the 2nd and 3rd users made me think. There’s no info on just these two people. And whenever we’ve seen all of the predecessors together, there’s two people blacked out. From what I can remember, these are the two occasions:

Now, there’s lots of theories as to why they’re blacked out. I personally believe there are two reasons: 1) theyre important in the plot later on, and that’s why they’re blocked out for now or 2) to kind of show/symbolise that nothing is known about them. I personally believe that it’s number one in this case, because a lot of the time when Horikoshi does things, it’s for a reason, so doing this is like foreshadowing. Also, if this was just saying nothing is know, why do they have obvious silhouettes?? Like, if they were supposedly ‘unknown’ wouldn’t they just be a normal human base silhouette? Idk I might be picking at things that don’t exist here but hey ho- it’s my style

We got proper, tight, unmistakable info on this guy. FINALLYYYYYYY!! I freakin deakin LOVE the successors and I’m thinking maybe Izu will be able to use Black Whip like Lariat in the future, maybe for the big battle coming up?? :D Also, is it just me, or does he kinda remind you of Death Arms?? Ya know the guy from the start of s1 who had a go at Izu for running in to save Baku from the sludge villain?? This guy:

And ofc this could just simply be a coincidence that they have a similar character design but just to check I went onto the fandom wiki to look for his name to see if they were related, maybe have the same last name but there’s no name listed so I’m gonna go ahead and say for now that its just a coincidence lol

What I’m getting from these two screenshots, is that most of the earlier users weren’t chosen because they had particularly strong or flashy quirks, because otherwise AfO would find them and take & kill them for their quirks, and OfA would die with them. Instead, they were chosen because they would be able to pass the quirk on through the generations to build its power, ready for the inevitable time one of the users, All Might, would be able to defeat AfO. This actually makes so much sense, i-

YALL WE FINALLY GOT TO FIND OUT WHAT NANA’S QUIRK IS. FLOATTTTTT!!!!! I’m gonna say, from the fact that she’s airborne in the image and her partner is Gran Torino, that it was basically her being able to fly, like superheroes in western media. Like sidndksbdkcnhs that’s such a freaking cool quirk, being able to fly,,,,,,,

Bish. Don’t stick ur middle finger up at Izu >:( what did he do?!

Ok but this is actually adorable. Those two arguing and AM smiling like the proud dad he is. I actually like this kind of thing, it’s like they’re bantering, and Izu is actually standing his ground, not letting Baku just walk all over him. For me, it’s kinda a sign that their relationship IS improving, though I personally won’t like Baku as a character unless he apologises to Izu, begs for forgiveness. He needs to try be nicer still, but compared to the start of the series, it’s a good start if they want to mend their relationship.

Sharing another translation of an article interviewing Yuki Kaji, Todoroki’s voice actor! When I tried searching I only found some partial and rough translations and there were a couple nice lines in here so I decided to translate the whole thing for everyone. Apologies if it’s been done before.

This interview discusses episode 10 of season two… “Shoto Todoroki: Origin” and Kaji’s thoughts on it.

My favorite part is when Kaji describes Todoroki’s past pain and trauma like a scab: “I believe the wounds on Todoroki’s heart were painful, covered in a thick scab but still fresh and bleeding underneath. Todoroki ignored that scab up until now, but Izuku’s actions and words started to tear it off.” 💔

This is just my take on a translation– feel free to message me if you notice any mistakes and I’ll try to fix as soon as possible!

“A drama you have to know when talking about Todoroki” — Special Interview with Yuki Kaji who plays Todoroki in My Hero Academia! Includes Screenshots from the 10th Episode Airing 6/3

Popular TV anime series My Hero Academia is airing now, and coming up tomorrow June 3rd is episode 10 “Shoto Todoroki: Origin”. This episode is one of the most popular from the original manga so we got a special interview with Shoto Todoroki’s voice actor Yuki Kaji to discuss its importance!

The second one-on-one battle of the UA Sports Festival is Izuku versus Shoto Todoroki— and Todoroki is purposely not using his father’s flame Quirk. This is a must see episode with amazing action and drama, the lead character designer Yoshihiko Umakoshi even took the role of animation director for this episode himself!

Special Interview with Yuki Kaji (Role: Shoto Todoroki)

Q: How has it been voicing Todoroki from season one until now?

Kaji: During season one, Todoroki was just this kind of mysterious character with a powerful Quirk and good fighting skills, just kind of a generically strong character. I had read the original manga and knew what would happen later in the story so tried to play his role conscious of why he was acting the way he was and filling in the blanks. So there wasn’t a big change for me between season one and season two. However, in season two we’re starting to see him show his emotions a bit more and his personality is becoming more clear, so it feels like I can finally play him the way I originally planned.

Q: What state of mind were you in when recording "Shoto Todoroki: Origin"?

Kaji: There are a lot of characters in My Hero Academia but there are only a few with speaking roles in this episode, which made it feel even more tense than usual. This was an episode I really enjoyed in the original manga and so I was really focused when I went in to record it. But Todoroki isn't the kind of character to openly display his emotions like Izuku is, so I was careful not to let my personal excitement and passion come out too much while recording-- especially for the first half of this episode.

Q: Todoroki is really aware of Izuku here.

Kaji: Todoroki is depicted as even more irritated by Izuku and his father Endeavor in the anime than he is in the original manga. So I am often directed to act that way. Todoroki hates his father Endeavor, who tried to forcefully raise him to be someone who could surpass All Might. As a result, he's also bothered by Izuku who has a connection with All Might, and Todoroki decides he wants to win against Izuku even though he feels a hint of contradiction inside of himself.

I think he's upset with himself and confused by his own actions because despite wanting to go against his father he's actually kind of doing exactly what he wanted. On top of that, he always thought he could easily win against Izuku and never saw him as a threat but then all of the sudden he felt incredible energy coming from Izuku’s Quirk. I think Izuku became someone he couldn't not be aware of after all that.

Q: What was it like acting one-on-one with Daiki Yamashita who plays Izuku?

Kaji: In the past I've had a lot of roles like Izuku, so it felt kind of new to be in an opposite kind of role like Todoroki playing against Yamashita-kun's Izuku. When acting I always start to get really excited but... Todoroki is Todoroki so I can't let it show (lol). Also, the sound director told Yamashita-kun "Think about how it feels facing up against your great rival, Kaji-san" to get him fired up but honestly that just put weird pressure on me (awkward smile). Yamashita-kun really came at me acting with an amazing energy, so I went all out in return.

Q: Todoroki has the same goal as Izuku, to become a hero.

Kaji: Yes, I believe Todoroki dreamed of being a hero when he was a child and looked up to All Might. Maybe he thinks that he can get one step closer to All Might by beating Izuku, who All Might has been giving special attention to. But if Todoroki hadn’t felt something from Izuku words, if he had never tried to overcome his relationship with his father and his past with his mother, I don’t believe he ever could have gotten closer to All Might even if he beat Izuku. I believe the wounds on Todoroki’s heart were painful, covered in a thick scab but still fresh and bleeding underneath. Todoroki ignored that scab up until now, but Izuku’s actions and words started to tear it off. So how will this change Todoroki? I hope you’ll watch and find out.

Q: How do you feel now that recording is over?

Kaji: I’m not sure...  there's a scene in this episode that myself and I assume other fans of the original manga were really looking forward too, and the action and lines leading up to that scene are really exciting and emotional. But unlike Izuku, Todoroki isn't the type to yell and speak his mind. So I had to think of how to how to really show Todoroki's emotions at just that one point. I guess I ended up bewildered kind of like Todoroki himself, after the recording and even now it still feels kind of strange. But this episode is where Todoroki begins to change and maybe I'm changing along with him.

Q: Lastly, please send a message to all the viewers!

Kaji: I have been looking forward to the “Shoto Todoroki: Origin” episode and recording THAT line since I first found out I would be playing Todoroki. I’m sure fans of the original manga have really been looking forward to this episode as well. All of the cast and staff are overflowing with passion and love as we make the My Hero Academia anime. I am posting this to show 1.) how big of a nerd I am, 2.) what KIND of a nerd I am, and 3.) just how much I went through to end up in complete agony, lol.

I really like facts, concrete evidence that something is true. I also like a good puzzle, being given some information and travelling down the rabbit hole to try and piece said info together. You know what else I like? Fictional universes and their concept of time. The Dice, Camera, Action! fandom might know me as the insane lady who carefully tries to construct a proper timeline for a DnD show with no official timeline whatsoever, going simply off of in-game clues.

You know what show gave me a character’s birthday, another character telling said birthday character “happy birthday” seemingly quite a bit after his birthday, and then proceeded to dump an actual, real calendar on me? Mob Psycho 100, of course! So what did I decide I wanted to figure out? Just how long HAD Mob and Reigen been apart during the “separation arc”?

Now, I actually DO have a pretty good guess! See, based on Reigen’s character profile from the manga, along with the email his mom sent him on his birthday, we know that he turned 28 on October 10, 2012 (if he was born Year of the Rat and is using a cellphone in present day, he had to have been born in 1984, thus it being 2012 on his 28th birthday). According to the above included calendar, this would be a Wednesday. He had already been separated from Mob for a little while previous to that, though. The first day could have been a school day as Ritsu came home in uniform and said that Mob was “home early”, but it couldn’t have been a Monday as the day before that was definitely a school day. So that would likely make it either Tuesday the 9th or Friday the 5th. We then see Mob in class/club, out shopping with Ritsu, and out again in a different outfit (this being Reigen’s birthday). If his birthday is on a Wednesday, their first day apart couldn’t have been Tuesday as there are at least 2 days in between their fight and Wednesday, so likely they fought on Thursday the 4th, meaning that October 5, 2012 would be the first day of their separation.

So! Reigen went 6 days before getting his serious Mob withdrawal symptoms. Ok, how much time passed after that? Well, I figured it couldn’t be TOO much, as while Mob’s belated “happy birthday” is said in the past tense, it’d be weird if it came, like, months later, but there’s only so much actual evidence to go on. We do know that Reigen started going all out with work, and one job in particular - the video game player killer - had him staying up “many nights”. But that one job made him go viral, essentially, and he got interviewed for a magazine. “And a few days after that” he got asked to be on the TV special, which took place “one week” from when he was asked. We then see people reporting on him being a fake the next day, and the day after that Mob is at school and being told about it for the first time. This gave me my first clue, making me think the special must have been on a Saturday night, with Mob finding out on Monday. After this, we get the line “in three days, being the ultimate evil had become Reigen’s public image”, which would put us on a Tuesday as the day he gets cornered into holding a press conference the following day (Wednesday). And, of course, that’s the day he finally sees Mob again.

So for sure we have 4 days since the night of his social collapse, and before that 8 days between which he got asked to be on TV and then he appeared on TV the following week. So we’ve got a confirmed 12 days total so far, but obviously that’s not counting the “many nights” playing the video game plus any work time he put in before or after. The earliest possible date that he could have been contacted for the TV would be Saturday the 20th. This would give him about a week and a half to get big, and it would put the spooky exorcism special the Saturday before Halloween. But that’s not a lot of time to build up his name, and it would put his press conference on Halloween itself which seems a bit odd to me (though maybe Japan isn’t too big on Halloween specials). So I figured the best bet would be to say he got asked to be on TV Saturday the 27th, appeared Nov 3rd, and held his press conference on Wed the 7th, exactly 4 weeks since his birthday, and a total of 34 days since he’d last seen Mob.

BUT WAIT! Why did I say I was in agony over this if I’ve got a pretty decent idea of how much time passed? Oh, Studio Bones. I love you. I love you a lot. I do. I really, really do.

But.

BUT.

*sigh*

You just HAD to put a REAL calendar in the very next episode, didn’t you?

Ok, so admittedly at first I was pretty excited about this! After all, at first glance, it actually seemed to line up pretty well! It looked like it could be a calendar for Oct 2012! But then I noticed that according to that screenshot, the date is supposed to be the 1st. Well, ok, fine, maybe my first guess was correct and Reigen actually DID get popular in a week and a half and held in press conference on the 31st. But... no, that couldn’t be it either because this month has 31 days in it - that doesn’t even work for November at all! Could it possibly be December already? Did that much time actually pass?? In what year did December 1st fall on a Mon- WAIT! NO! THAT’S NOT A MONDAY! THAT’S A TUESDAY!! THIS CALENDAR STARTS WITH MONDAY!!! That means that even my theory of “they had the right calendar for Oct 2012, but just marked the wrong date on it” is debunked, too!! Wait wait wait!! Hold up! Just what month/year IS this supposed to be a calendar of, then??

It’s January 2019.

They just used the dates from January 2019.

I trusted you. I trusted that you would actually pull through for me, that you had given me concrete evidence to support my hypothesis. That you put so much care into your animation that SURELY putting in the proper dates wouldn’t be hard.

Before we get to the replies, I want to quickly address something. I’m sorry for not really being sorry about not being around. You guys might have noticed I haven’t posted anything on twitter in the past few days and also, everything since Monday or something has been queued and I haven’t visited any blogs. It’s all because I had a meltdown, let’s say, uninstalled tumblr and twitter from my phone and I actually decided to stop using twitter completely (whether it’s just for a few days or forever is a good question - I might be back next week, next month, next year, maybe never, who knows). As for tumblr, I usually catch up on everyone from the phone because when I’m on my computer, most of the time I just don’t feel like doing it, I have other things to do. But don’t worry, I’ll get there. There are some stories I need to continue reading.

Why I’m not sorry about all of this - simply because it’s been great. I feel like social media are like a drug - you’re addicted to them, you enjoy them, but they’re also toxic as hell and even if you think you have it under control, you don’t. I mean, maybe you do (good for you, my friend), but I didn’t. Also I have to focus on school. I have more exams on Thursday and Friday. So yeah.

TL;DR: I uninstalled some apps and haven’t been around too much and I’m not sorry about it.

In other news, how did Taylor Swift know exactly what song I would need these days?! We stan and I’m not even using that word ironically this time.

The song dropped at 6 am in my timezone, which is the time I wake up, so on Friday, I decided to set my alarm clock on 5.50 am because I was so excited, I didn’t want to miss it. And she surely didn’t disappoint. Actually, I’ve noticed one thing - every time she drops a new song, the first time I listen to it, I’m like hmmm, okay, not bad. I say that in the post lol. Anyway, let’s talk more about why I didn’t include him. Let’s talk about double heir generations. In my opinion, unless you decide to continue with children of both heirs, you still have only one heir. You just pay more attention to their sibling than you would to a regular spare. And yes, in gen 4, I said both Caleb and Tyler were the heirs, but I only continued the legacy with Caleb’s daughter.

So yeah, I basically just took Tyler’s heir rights away :D But it doesn’t matter, he’s still an icon of this blog.

Week 1, Sept 6 - 13

I wanted to summarize what I have been working both this past week and over the summer, as well. I have given my fourth year film a lot of thought, so I hope that over the course of this semester that is reflected!

This week I want to give an overview of what my project is about in terms of its plot, significance-slash-importance to me, and a breakdown of how I will go about attempting to achieve my planned goals this year. I also want to show some images of my current progress and talk about where I'm going next.

My project’s narrative actually came about as an accident when I was brainstorming ideas for my film. This summer, I went on a personal journey to understand more about my indigenous heritage. I found it both terrifying and exciting to learn more details about a culture that is my own but have no real connection to. A narrative began to develop unconsciously in my mind about a metaphorical journey of self discovery, and what it feels like to uncover a hidden part of yourself.

I wanted this to be the central idea for my film. I plan to show this narrative through body language and symbolism, not necessarily of indigenous culture, but of a more fantastical and universally relatable lexicon. Use of colour in costume design and the environment will be critical components of storytelling by way of texturing and lighting. And I want to use cinematography and composition to support these big ideas.

I wasn’t sure how much I should share right off the bat, so these are just some of the bigger ideas I would like to investigate with the project, and I can perhaps expand on them in the future as I build my assets.

These are some visual references I have gathered. I have more, but these are some of the ones I used the most while planning my ideas, and also included some screenshots from my 3rd year film for reference because I liked the way that turned out.

I would like to push the limits of my skills this year. I planned on doing this in a few ways, one: by developing my understood abilities, and two, by slowly introducing new skill sets that I want to include in my film. Some of the new, and some of my weaker, areas of knowledge are:

Using Dynamic Curves for rigging characters and costumes

Attempting to achieve more accurate nCloth simulations for clothing

More realism, or naturalism, in character animations

Animated textures

Attempt to use Bifrost to add simple bodies of water to my forested environments

Of course, if there is one thing I have learned about working on projects like this, things don't always go according to plan, even when following a structured schedule. There is a risk involved with developing new skills on projects with strict deadlines. I feel like I can safely push myself to my limits with my concept while taking what I see as “calculated” risks. But, just in case, I am also developing backup plans or alternative means of creation if I begin to struggle too much with learning these new skills.

This way I will still achieve my desired result, but still allow myself to take risks that will ultimately help me improve. I will also initially conduct a short testing period to see if these goals can be reached in a timely manner before committing to shots or assets that require these new skills to be applied.

Some examples of "backup plans" could include:

Swapping Dynamic Curve rigging for strictly nCloth simulation

Simplifying the character costume to avoid complex nCloth calculations

If unable to learn Bifrost during the testing period, avoiding shots that include water and instead use audio to help create a more believable, immersive environment

Editing shots in post production in lieu of animating textures

Here are some concepts from my sketchbook for the basic character design I have been thinking of. I like to start with a considerable amount of detail, as I tend to simplify the design over time when I redraw it over and over again. It’s also easier for me to simplify the clothing if necessary from an elaborate design instead of trying to add detail after the fact.

As I begin to finalize the design and make notes about clothing texture, I will determine the final level of detail, so to speak.

I also found some really great resources to help me improve my clothing textures that I will include when I finalize the design.

And here’s just a few photos of my storyboarding process, which is almost complete. I have much more success with this process on paper.

I’m also working on my asset list simultaneously so I can add the details to my production schedule.

For next week, I am aiming to finish my storyboards so I can begin redrawing my animatic on my computer. This should be a relatively quick process for me I think because I'm familiar with the drawing process and I can do it efficiently. I will also be finalizing my asset list so I can complete my production schedule and I can start building my assets. A short testing period will begin this week to determine how many of these new skills I will be able to accomplish reasonably considering the project deadline.
